This Lodge offers accommodation to guests from all over the world by renting self-catering cottage units on a short term basis, as well as 9 campground units for small RVs and tents. On request breakfast is served and is charged separately.
Tourism is very strong in the Golden area and has continually grown over the last 15 years. During the high season (mid-June to mid/end September) it is easy to fill the rental units with customers of all ages from North America, Europe and Asia. There is lots of potential in adding further tourism products e.g. activities, meals, more accommodation.
This Lodge is a quiet retreat on 148 acres (59.6 hectares), right on the edge of the wilderness. Situated close to six National Parks and 20 km north of Golden the property lies at the foot of Willowbank Mountain with incredible views into the Rocky Mountains and the Selkirks and Purcell Range across the Columbia River valley. The Blaeberry River and flood plain form the eastern property line (2500 feet). The entire northern property line borders crown land. The ridge crossing the land diagonally offers beautiful view-points. Pole Cabin Creek flows through a gully in the north-east corner. The property is partly cleared, has mixed forest with walking trails, and a 1 acre pond for swimming and raise rainbow trout and enjoy skating and curling on a natural ice rink in winter.
The Lodge is located in Area A of the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD). Compared to the other Areas of the CSRD, Area A has no building restrictions except for septic field, hydro and propane, and no zoning regulations. This makes building much easier, cheaper and uncomplicated and, therefore, offers a great potential to realize your dream project(s).
